Toni Cowern

Born into farm life I grew up creating with what was available. Creating meant day to day life with whatever was happening around my very imaginative family.

Recent inspiration has come with my love of the Barrier. I set foot here 14 years ago, and Aotea is home.

For me, visual expression and spiritual growth are strongly linked. The mixture of spiritual dimensions of the Deva world, sea, bush, flower and insect life combine to enhance my play of fibre, paint, ink, paper...anything that comes my way.

The Gallery has given me a springboard to be able to go out of my comfort zone and experience the energy of the art world in a different light.
