Carol has enjoyed many summers at the family bach, Bonnydoon, for the past 14 years and in 2016 became a permanent resident of Aotea, Great Barrier Island.

Taking photos has been a long time interest and since engaging herself in various photographic workshops and hours of studying how to capture better images, Carol has developed a strong passion for her photography, in particular astrophotography. She has a real drive and desire to continue along the exciting and very steep learning curve.

Carol is actively involved in our community and is donating a portion of her exhibition sales to St John, where one of her volunteer community roles is secretary/treasurer of our local area ambulance committee. Fascinated with our newly designated dark sky sanctuary and the sheer brilliance of the night sky, Carol is often out in the dark enjoying the stillness and serenity of our magical milky way and stars.

Her first exhibition is a collection of dark sky photos all taken here on Great Barrier Island called “Girl in the Dark”
